| As Ramadan comes to a close during another period of increased tensions in Jerusalem and the region, we hope that this Eid al-Fitr provides you and your loved ones with a time of respite and rejuvenation and the opportunity to celebrate together in safety and in peace with joy, light and laughter.
With all the challenges facing us this coming year, may we carry on to strive towards peace and full human rights for all, as together we persist in safeguarding Jerusalem as the present home and future capital of two peoples - leading lives in freedom and dignity.
