החודש יגיע לסיומו מאבק משפטי של שלושים שנה, שבמהלכו קק"ל מנסה לפנות את משפחת סומרין מביתה, על בסיס שימוש מפוקפק במיוחד של חוק נכסי נפקדים. למרות שמשפחת סומרין תמיד גרה בבית, המדינה השתלטה עליו בגלל שחלק מבני המשפחה עזבו את ירושלים.
הסיפור המשפטי אולי נשמע מסובך אבל המסר הוא פשוט- לא ניתן לבית המשפט לקרוע את המשפחה מביתה החוקי ולהשליכה לרחוב.

בשיחה ישתתפו אחמד סומרין וחגית עופרן – רכזת פרויקט מעקב התנחלויות בשלום עכשיו, אשר מלווה את המשפחה במאבקה לאורך השנים.

The JNF/KKL, is demanding the eviction of the Sumarin family from their home in Silwan – join us to meet the family and hear their story.
A 30 years of legal struggle will come to an end by the end of this month. Throughout the years, the JNF insisted on evicting the Sumarin family from their home, by making cynical use of the Absentee Property Law. Even though the Sumarin family has lived in this house forever, the state of Israel took over the house claiming to have the right to do so as some family members left Jerusalem.
It might sound complex from a legal perspective, but the message is very simple – we would not let the Israeli court throw the Sumarin family from their legal home to the streets.
