The linked interactive map tracks the land registration process in East Jerusalem, formally known as settlement of land title (SOLT), which was initiated in 2018 by the State of Israel for the first time since 1967. The map was designed by Bimkom – Planners for Planning Rights based on data collected together with Ir Amim and was developed to provide clear and accessible information on the SOLT process. Settlement of land title is a procedure of ascertaining the rights to blocks of  land, precisely measuring and determining their  boundaries, and recording them in the register of rights (“tabu”). This procedure has emerged as the latest tool for large-scale land appropriation in East Jerusalem, deepening the threat of Palestinian dispossession and displacement. Presented as an administrative measure ostensibly designed to benefit Palestinians, the state is in fact exploiting the process to facilitate mass land confiscation for Jewish settlement while further eroding Palestinian rights to their lands.
